Dell is shifting away from direct sales online

Dell is famous for selling it PC and laptop directly to their customers through the direct sales online which proved to be a very successful business model. However, Dell is slowly shifting away from this successful model when the growth of PC sales slowed.

Dell already selling their computer at 3,000 Wal-Mart stores and also initiated a retail partnership with Staples Inc.

The latest move involve selling its laptop and desktop computers at over 900 Best Buy Co. stores. Dell officials believe that with the move, it will help to make a presence at different level of the US retail market.

Future arrangements has also be made with a few retailers for similar initiatives such as Bic Camera Inc. in Japan, Gome stores in China, and Carrefour Group and Carphone Warehouse PLC in Europe. With such arrangement, Dell's computers will be available at more than 10,000 stores around the world.
